When I initially began my study of Spanish, I bemoaned (in error) the fact that visiting Spanish-speaking countries meant traveling to forever-summer, hot, tropical places. THEN, I learned that Argentina extended quite far south and that it too had snow and cold! As a native Minnesotan and lover of upper midwestern winters, this came as welcome news.
As the years passed, I met Argentine-Americans, Argentinians,as well as Chileans, Peruvians and Colombians, all of which served to increase my desire to see this vast continent to the south of us.
